Late Night Vocal Session with AKG C414 XLS

June 28, 2017

I posted this last night on Instagram *Nerd Alert* see the microphone I'm using to record my album

For those of you following along i've been doing A LOT of studio time and getting these vocals solid for another single coming very soon (as part of my new record) #record4

I've been engineering & producing this project. I wanted to share with you the mic I've been using.

This is the AKG C414 XLS Microphone. It's a large diaphragm condenser mic you can use for almost anything from studio sessions to even some live applications.  I've used it to record vocals, background vocals, cello, violin, guitars, ukulele, and even hand claps & whistles 🤣. It gives you a super rich and wide frequency to work with in post production. I don't use any of the roll off or padding features on it for cutting vocals, but i have in the past used a roll off on my big Gretsch acoustic guitar. It's a solid beast of a mic & I recommend it.
